The complexities of doing too much...

So I thought I’d write a short blog on the complexities ‘doing too much’ as it will explain where I’ve been, but also probably resonates with lots of you!

The Nines was born out of a huge passion for vintage jewellery and inspired by my late grandmothers love of all things beautiful and gold. Since it’s conception over 5 years ago it’s grown a bit, I’ve moved jobs and had an amazing addition to my life in the shape of my daughter Zadie. Your support over lockdown, some fantastic collaborations with Retold Vintage made me busier than ever, but along with that came increased pressure at work, childcare issues and me and my partner working at home occupying the same space 24/7 (thankfully he doesn’t complain too much about being surrounded by jewels) – like most have found, it’s been tough!

So over the past few weeks you’ve not seen me on social media and I’ve not posted any new collections, I’ve had a little break, a recharge and a refresh, I’ve spent time with my family and reassured myself that I don’t need to be a superwoman. It was just what I needed, I feel loads more in control and I’m BACK!!

With that in mind, I wanted to give you a heads up on what I’ve been up to and what’s coming up over the next three months :

 July

  •  I’ve been working with Clare from Retold on a new collection, which will be available in the next couple of weeks, think hoops, vermeil, bracelets, Bengel and more!

  • I will be launching the first part of my exclusive Bengel collection – I managed to source a huge collection of 1930’s pieces and will be bringing them to you over a few drops. I do have multiples of most these pieces and they are all deadstock, but they are rare, hard to find (especially in great condition) and once gone they are gone, so if you love them grab them.

August

  • I will be at Bohemia Place Market in Hackney – so come down and see the jewels IRL

  • I have been working with a super talented jewellery crafter to create an exclusive reworked collection’  using lovely loose or previously broken parts of vintage jewellery, vintage designer buttons. vintage designer shop ribbon, findings and other beautiful bits. These pieces are all handmade and one of a kind and I’m so excited to be able to give them a second life.

  • There will be another Retold drop with some gorgeous necklaces and more classic bracelets, earrings and chains.

  •  I will also be launching another general collection of handpicked pieces on theninesvintage.com towards the end of the month.

September

  • I will be launching the second part of the exclusive Bengel collection.

  • Our monthly collection with the amazing Retold Vintage will launch

  •  I will be at the Walthamstow Flea at the Truman Brewery

Can’t wait to share all the amazing new pieces with you and hopefully see some of you ‘in real life’ at one of the events!
